iBT Toefl 시험은 Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing 의 순서로 진행됩니다. R/C와 L/C의 시험 문항수의 차이에 따라 A타입과 B타입의 두 가지 유형이 있습니다. 같은 날 같은 장소에서 시험을 본다 하여도 컴퓨터마다 다른 타입의 문제가 나올 수 있습니다.

Reading
The Reading section of the TOEFL iBT is slightly longer than the previous CBT version however the ‘Structure section' has been omitted offering diversified scope of questions.

Listening
The Listening section of the TOEFL iBT measures the ability to understand English. In this section, test participants are allowed to take notes of the contents. It's important to identify the main idea and the supporting details of the passages. Compare to the CBT version, the iBT Listening section is longer in length and the speakers accents will vary from American to Australian.

Speaking
TOEFL iBT unlike its predecessor has implemented a Speaking section. Test participants are required to interpret the question and orally present an answer within a given timeframe. This section will assess how well speakers can logically articulate spoken English. Participants will have a chance to read a passage related to the test. Subsequently, an audio version of the passage will also be heard without the visibility of the passage. After listening to the final instructions, participants are required to thoroughly comprehend the messages and orally provide feedbacks based on the given instructions.

The process begins with 3-5 minutes of reading time. Passages are culled from college equivalent academic reading materials. Time duration will be indicated on the right bottom end of the monitor. Participants are allowed to take down notes during the reading session. Once the reading is complete, the passage will disappear from the screen followed by audio instructions. Participants are still allowed to take down notes while audio instructions are announced. Once the audio instructions are complete, writing session begins. The original reading passage will reappear on the screen and notes can be referred for guidance. It's crucial that participants include all of the information requested from the instructions. Keyboards are used to compose the writings. Participants have 20 minutes to complete the writing session. Recommended length is between 150-225 words.

The overall quality of the writing (development, organization, appropriate and precise use of grammar and vocabulary)
The completeness and accuracy of the content.

∴Independent writing
This part of the TOEFL iBT tests your composition skills. Based on a given topic, test participants must write an essay congruent to its topic. It's extremely significant to express the thoughts and opinions that can support the grounds of the writing. Test participants are given 30 minutes to complete the independent writing section and recommend the length of the writing to be at around 300 words.

Choosing One Answer Questions
There are multiple choice questions in the R/C and L/C section of the TOEFL iBT. You are to select one correct answer among the 4 possible answers.

Choosing More ThanOne Answer Questions
There are multiple choice questions in the R/C and L/C sections of the TOEFL iBT. You are to select more than one answer by clicking the boxes next to the possible answers. Keep in mind that at least one answer box must be checked before moving on to the next question. Should you need to void the chosen answer, you can simply click the chosen box for it to be cancelled. 

Chart Questions
In this section of the test, you are to check either ‘Yes' or ‘No' for each of the questions.

Insert Sentence Questions
In this section of the test, you are to fill in a missing phrase within a given sentence. You can select the correct phrase by clicking them and it will automatically fill in the blank. Should you want to make changes to the answer, you can simply click on a different phrase.

Drag and Drop Questions ( a category chart question, a summary question)
In this section of the test, you are to select the correct answer that is congruent with the main points of the given passage. Once you click the chosen answer, simply drag and drop the answer in the appropriate spot. Should you want to make changes to the answer, you can by double clicking the answer
